Arrangement method of bolts when mounting the slewing drive

U-TRSM designers often encounter non-standard designs and custom slewing drives in the design of slewing drives. The connection methods of slewing drive rely on bolts, so the number and size of bolts play a crucial role. The position of each bolt should ensure that the force on each bolt is uniform and small, avoiding additional loads on the bolt, and should also be conducive to processing and assembly. U-TRSM design engineers have summarised the following experiences for everyone to share:
1. The part plane at the bonding surface should be as simple as possible. The number of bolts on the same circumference should be 4, 6, 8, 12, etc. to facilitate machining indexing. The shape center of the bolt group should be made to coincide with the shape center of the fitting surface of the part, preferably with two perpendicular axes of symmetry.
2. Bolt groups subjected to moments should be moved away from the axis of symmetry to reduce bolt forces.
3. For bolt group subjected to transverse force, the bolts arranged along the force direction should not exceed 6~8pcs, in order to avoid serious unevenness force on the bolts.
4. The shape, size and material of the fasteners used in the same bolt group should be the same in order to facilitate processing and assembly.
5. When assembling threaded connections, the tool should have sufficient operating space and a certain spanner space dimension should be ensured.
