Introduction to the correct installation method of slewing ring

Slewing ring is a very important transmission component in mechanical equipment. It has been widely used in various industries. When installing, you need to master the correct installation method to ensure the smooth operation of the equipment. Based on previous installation experience, we have summarized the essentials of installing slewing bearings and now share them with you.

1.Before installing the slewing ring, open the package and check the certificate and the information on the slewing bearing to confirm whether it is consistent with the selected model; Carefully check the appearance to see if the slewing ring has bumps or major damage during transportation; Manually rotate the slewing bearing to check whether the slewing bearing is flexible; Check whether the installation foundation is flat, the installation foundation should be a machined surface, the installation surface should be flat and free of burrs.
2.When installing the slewing ring, hang the slewing ring horizontally on the installation foundation platform, check the position of the soft area (generally marked S) and place the soft area and the plug position in the non-load area or light-load area. Use a feeler gauge to check whether there is a gap between the slewing bearing plane and the installation foundation plane. If there is a large gap, it proves that the installation foundation flatness is not good. If conditions permit, the installation foundation should be reprocessed, If the conditions do not permit, the method of pad copper skin can be used to eliminate the gap where there is a gap, so as to prevent the slewing bearing from being stretched and deformed after the bolts are tightened, which affects the slewing ring performance and life. The bolts should be installed symmetrically and continuously in the direction of 180°. Finally, check to ensure that all bolts on the circumference are tightened according to the required torque. It is not recommended to use non-standard bolts, old bolts and open spring washers cannot be used.
3.If you need to adjust the backlash of the geared slewing ring, the correct backlash is very important. Find the position of the gear height (green paint or blue paint on the gear top), use a feeler gauge to measure and adjust the backlash between the slewing ring and the pinion. Generally, the backlash value is adjusted to (0.03-0.04) times the modulus, after adjusting the tooth backlash, manually rotate the slewing ring at least one turn to verify that the gear meshing is not stuck. Then install bolts and tighten them symmetrically and continuously in the direction of 180°, finally, check to ensure that all bolts on the circumference are tightened according to the required torque.
4.After all the mounting bolts are tightened, the debris between the large and small gears on and around the slewing ring should be removed in time, the neighboring parts should be checked to ensure that the slewing ring will not interfere with the rotation, then grease between the gears, turn on the equipment and slowly rotate a few times, carefully check whether the slewing bearing runs smoothly, whether the large and small gears mesh normally, whether there are abnormal noises and jams.
