Introduction to the connection mode of slew drive transmission shaft

Publish time:2023/08/01 News Views:128

At the input end of the slewing drive, torque and power are generally transmitted through shafts and shaft holes, while the positioning of shafts and shaft holes is usually fixed with keys. After the parts are installed in the designated position, it should be ensured that they will not change their original position after being subjected to working load. Then U-TRSM will briefly introduce the methods and characteristics of transmission shaft fixing in slewing drive:

Flat key: simple manufacture, simple disassembly, good alignment. Used for higher precision, high speed and fixed connection under impact or variable load, also can be used for guiding connection in general.

Taper key: can simultaneously transmit torque and withstand unidirectional axial force. Due to the eccentricity or deviation of the components on the shaft caused by assembly, it is not suitable for the requirements of strict alignment with shock loads and high-speed transmission connections.

Tangential key: can transmit large torque, poor alignment, greater weakening of the shaft, commonly used in heavy machinery.Tangential keys can only transmit torque in one direction. Transmission of bidirectional torque requires two keys at an angle to each other.

Spline: high load carrying capacity, good centering and guiding, difficult to manufacture, high cost. Suitable for sliding connection or fixed connection with large load and high requirements for qualitative accuracy.

Slide key: the key is fixed on the wheel hub and slides axially with the hub along the keyway on the same shaft, commonly used in applications with large axial distances.

Semicircular key: the key in the keyway on the shaft can swing around its geometric center, so it is convenient to assemble the hub to the shaft, but the keyway on the shaft is deeper, weakening the strength of the shaft, used for connections with smaller loads or auxiliary connections, also used for tapered shafts and hub connections.

Cylindrical pin: used for the hub width is small, with the key connection is difficult to ensure that the hub and the shaft is reliably fixed occasions, this connection is generally used with the interference fit, and can be used at the same time more than one cylindrical pin.

Interference fit: simple structure, good alignment, high load carrying capacity, and at the same time play a role in the axial and radial fixation of the parts. For the fit with medium or less interference, it’s often used in conjunction with the flat key connection.

The above is an introduction to the connection method of the slewing drive transmission shaft. Since its establishment, U-TRSM has gained the trust and support of many customers with its high quality slewing drive products, excellent slewing program design capabilities and fast response services.
