There are many types of raceways for slewing bearings. 1.Processing efficiency

The grinding feed of the grinding wheel is extremely small. The production efficiency is very low.
Turning the raceway is to turn the raceway with a hard turning cutter to finally achieve the desired shape and geometric size. At present, it is very common to use CNC lathes to turn raceways. CNC lathes have low requirements for operators. As long as they can simply operate the machine, they can process workpieces in batches. The turning efficiency of CNC lathes is much higher than grinders. If you evaluate the comprehensive processing efficiency of these two processing methods, the high efficiency of turning processing becomes more prominent.
2.Machining precision
The groove roughness of the grinding process can generally reach within Ra0.8, if a special grinding wheel is selected and used, the roughness of the groove can be better. The roughness of the finish turning raceway can generally reach Ra1.2-1.6. If the user has a high requirement on the raceway roughness, choose to grind the raceway. If the requirement on the raceway roughness is not high, the raceway can be turning machined.
Use ordinary grinders to grind and process the raceway. The raceway geometry depends on the operator to trim the grinding wheel. During the grinding process, the grinding wheel is constantly worn out. The shape of the ground raceway generally needs to be trimmed to achieve the ideal state. The accuracy of CNC lathes is very high, generally within 0.02mm. CNC lathes can accurately process arcs, bevels and other shapes through programming, so the grooves and geometric shapes processed by CNC lathes can easily meet the process requirements.
The grinding raceway generally adsorbs the workpiece on the chuck, the workpiece is not clamped in the radial direction, the clamping deformation is not generated. The grinding stress of the grinding process is very small, the workpiece is not easily deformed. Therefore, the groove rotation accuracy of the grinding process can reach a very high level, can make a high-precision slewing bearing, such as negative clearance slewing bearings, high speed slewing bearings, low noise slewing bearings, ultra-thin series slewing bearings, etc. Must use grinding technology for production.
The raceway grinding processing method and turning processing method of the slewing ring have their own advantages and disadvantages, they should be selected according to the specific application conditions. For example, in the heavy-duty field, military industry, medical equipment field, etc., grinding raceways should be used. While as for construction machinery, engineering machinery and other fields, CNC finish turning should be selected for processing cost and processing efficiency.
