The position of the soft area should be adjusted to the non-loaded area or the area that is not frequently loaded. The soft area of the inner ring and outer ring of the slewing bearing should be staggered into 180°. When installing slewing bearings for some lifting equipment such as truck cranes, lifting cranes and tower cranes, the soft area should be installed at 90° with the lifting arm.

The geared slewing bearing is generally sprayed with colored paint at the highest position of the tooth runout. This position is used to fit the pinion and adjust it with a feeler gauge according to national standard requirements.

2.Use and maintenance of slewing ring

In the use of the slewing bearing, it’s necessary to refer to the installation manual and maintenance manual issued by the manufacturer for guidance. Seals, rolling elements and grease should be replaced in time according to different working conditions.

The slewing bearing is filled with 70% grease in the raceway when it leaves the factory, which can be used by the user for a period of time. When refilling the grease, pay attention to the remaining grease should be cleaned up, fill grease brand and model recommended by the manufacturer, Note that grease must not be mixed, it is best to use grease of the same brand and model.

For geared slewing bearings, the grease in the tooth parts should be replaced and cleaned in time to ensure that the tooth surface is clean and free of particles and other debris, so as to avoid damage to the tooth surface when the teeth mesh for a long time. The slewing ring needs to be disassembled and assembled when replacing the slewing bearing rolling elements, cages, and seals, when placing the slewing bearing, it must be lifted and stored horizontally, vertical lifting and storage are prohibited.
